This and that…

I had the pleasure earlier this year of personally tonal finishing Cliff Hipkins new Walker organ. I was privileged to design the instrument. Ken Crome built the magnificent RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL reproduction console. It is an amazing experience to do design work and planning, and finally see it realized. Equally satisfying is physically hearing the sounds that have been conceptualized and having it exceed all expectations. Congratulations to Cliff and his lovely wife.

The organ has been playing mostly on weekend. I have also enjoyed playing for a variety of premieres. In addition to Disney and Pixar films, with Disney’s acquisition of Marvel, we have played host to new Marvel films including the exciting CAPTAIN AMERICA.

It’s been a great summer at the El Capitan. CARS 2 has attracted large and enthusiastic audiences and the organ is still a dream. Now I am on hiatus. Back in October!
